Types of Carpet and Fabric Framing
STANDARD FRAMING
Framing options depend on the size and weight of the carpet or fabric. Typically, the carpet or fabric is attached to an MDF board using gun pins. Then, a frame is added around it, with the possibility of including glass.
STRETCHING AND FRAMING
If the carpet or fabric is lighter and less fragile, it could be stretched and framed like a canvas. Floating frames are also suitable for this purpose.
FRAMING WITH BACKGROUND MOUNT
Carpet or fabric will be stitched or pinned onto a background mount board, leaving 3 to 5 cm of free space all around. The framing process will take into account the size, weight, and edges of the carpet or fabric. The frame will be a box type and can be with or without glass.
