Since 2004, I have worked as a full-time artist, after "a smooth transition" as a graphic artist and art director from the advertising industry. My family and I live together for three generations on Funen, where we also cultivate our great common interest in horses.
As a painter I am self-taught, experimenting and constantly challenging myself creatively through painting. I have participated in several exhibitions, including several curated, in both Denmark and abroad.
Often I find it difficult to "attack" a canvas that stands completely bare. A feeling that I must wear the multi-layered abstract haute couture of the colour scale, each of which has its justification. And then I like to use strong expressive colours and put them together without regard to common rules and norms. The distribution and placement of the colours form a visual interpretation of my way of seeing the world's fabulous mannequins - yet dressed in my collection.
The expression of my images is enough joy, spontaneity and optimism, while often reflecting humour. The common denominator for them can be "smile you are on ...". With these words, I will be delighted to show you my latest collection.
MY BACKGROUND - IN A FEW WORDS:
After a transitional slip from the advertising world as an Art Director I have worked full time as an artist painter since 2004. My family and I live together with three generations on Funen, where we also find time for our great common interest in horses.
As an artist I am self-taught, experimenting and constantly challenging myself creatively by painting. I have participated in several exhibitions, including censured exhibitions, in Denmark and abroad.
Often I actually find it hard not to attack a naked canvas. I have the feeling that I must dress it in several layers of colourful paints and together they will be a part of my child or abstract haute couture. I prefer strong expressive colours and I do not follow the normal way of mixing them. The way I place the colours on the canvas leads You to my way of seeing the worlds fable mannequins - all dressed in my collection.
I hope my paintings will express joy, spontaneity and optimism all together with a twist of humour. The common denominator could be "smile - you're on". With these words, I will be happy to show you my latest collection.
