While attending the Architecture Faculty of SUSU in Chelyabinsk (Russia), where she graduated in 2009 with “distinction”, she never stopped drawing. Having solid bases in classical art and being skilled in many different techniques, she continues to experiment and develop her own painting styles, focusing mainly on live portraits, surrealist-oriented landscapes, and cityscapes.
After living and working in 8 different countries she settled with her family in UAE where, besides her activity as an Architect, she paints mostly portraits and cityscapes commissions.
Her paintings are featured in private collections in Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan, Cyprus and the United Arab Emirates.
Maria’s latest series of works are inspired by her life in the Middle East and the city of Dubai in particular. The oil paint is applied by using a palette knife technique directly over the canvas creating a multiply layering colour effect with strong contrasts and vivid colours.
