Mena Malgonkar

Mena Malgonkar is an Indian artist based in Mumbai focusing on painting the old buildings of Mumbai and the beautiful forests of the Western Ghats. Through her art she aims to bring emotion, a gentle beauty, and quiet luminescence. With practice over the years, her work has become natural to her, to the point that “colors now choose themselves”, she says.

Mena’s art training began when she chose to specialize in Commercial Art in college. Later she graduated as a Bachelor of Fine Art from Bangalore University. She is an Art Director in DDB, FCB, and The Brand Union.

Mena worked as an Art Director in several advertising agencies for fourteen years and is currently teaching design to young minds while painting in her studio five days a week.

She has exhibited in India, France and Dubai, and has created murals in Poland and Bulgaria.
